Good day,

Has anyone with the MX-02 noticed that it is sensitive to static electricity? Here in the northern climate we get zapped constantly in the winter (door knobs, car handles...etc) and that seems to disturb the MX-02's connectivity. The USB would disconnect and the Expert software seems to resume after a small glitch; but the Pro software would become unusable until a restart. This makes working with the Pro software and its extensive analytical features impossible when it cannot complete a 10-20 shots without restarting the Pro.

Anyone seeing the same?

That might have to be the solution if the Pro version doesn’t get an update to address that.

You’d also think there’s a wire to the computer which would help with grounding...

I'm not sure if that would even be possible to tackle with a software update, to be honest (as this seems like something that affects the hardware first, which simply manifests itself with the program freaking out).

The very first time I'm seeing a feedback like this, will make sure to forward it to our devs ;)

Thanks Peter for chiming in. The Expert does recover from it. When the "zap" happens you hear the signature Windows USB connect/disconnect tone. Expert carries on after a quick delay, while Pro will not resume tracing until the program is restarted. Since the "zaps" usually happens during repositioning, "loading"...etc the issue on its own is minor using the Expert software.

Although I cannot confirm for sure, I also think the Pro issue came along with one software update; whereas it stopped recovering from USB disconnects.

Thanks for bringing this up with the devs.
