Hi
Im having issues with the impacts jumping all over (no its not me this time).. I shoot a nice group of 10s then it jumps to 4s or 5s. Im shooting indoors. No windows, no airstreams. Just couple of led lamps close to the target. Prone shooting.

Any ideas what is causing this jump in impacts? A bit annoying.
Thanks

If you have wood floors, the reflection can cause errant shots. I now lay blankets down between rifle and target

I will try that - THANKS.

Its prone and I have the leds on the floor close to the target. You think its better to position the light above the target because of possible heat mirage?

For me it only occurs in sitting and prone. I too have a light on the target and it doesn’t seem to matter where I put the light. The blankets fixed it.

Hard to tell right off the bat, but I really like what agshooter suggested above
On top of that, I highly recommend making sure that your firmware is up to date

I had the same issue with a SCATT USB and making a sensor shade with black cardboard helped.

Pictures above. I have spent + 5 hrs last two days trying to get an accurate trace reading. :(
Thats alot of time for one problem and its not solved.

bought a 10w led work lamp. Have played with location and angle. Got a gray/white carpet under the 3m range.

Can you recommend a direct email contact to someone that can help at Scatt.?
Thanks

Yeah, this has nothing to do with the reflections (that advice works with Infra-Red models)
Wish you mentioned that you have MX-02 right away

I will DM you my WhatsApp so we can troubleshoot this in real time

Just want to give you guys an update - if it helps anyone.

So finally Scatt MX-02 works. I had to try/buy couple of lamps and took many hours of testing before Scatt trace and impacts started to read OK. It was not until I found a new place to practice and moved back to 4meters that it started to work. Big plus ++ is ability to get live help online from Scatt.
I also have Scatt basic I have tested along with the MX-02. That unit does NOT work at home. I will try to find soltion for the scatt basic soon. Keep you posted.

If you happen to have a spare tablet laying around.. i use an old ipad3 for a target. Set to automatically adjust the brightness. Works for me in almost any lighting condition.

I'm using this ikea small led focus lamp Ikea seems to have replaced the model, but they still have the same kind of focus led.

For me the solution was to encircle the target with the focus light, having it with stronger light that the surroundings.
Scatt Basic at 3,5 meters.

Hi,
I had the same problem as Deepten. My setup in terms of lighting was roughly similar. I was in the USA at that time and received great support from Scatt USA. It turned out that this kind of setup didn't create enough contrast for the sensor to recognize the black round target center amid it's environment.
It was solved with two tiny 5€ USB-charged LED lamps designed for small camping tents. They must be less than 20 lumen each but when clipped about a foot (30 cm) in front they create a sharp enough contrast in brightness between the target and it's surroundings, whether in total blackness or gray cloudy daylight, although the target is about 8 meters from me. Solved problem.
So I would advise to go for any bright light that you can focus to about a square foot around the target, avoiding to illuminate the surroundings.
