I just tried this and it works like a charm. I put up a mirror and suddenly i'm the proud owner of a 10 meter range :)
(ipad for a target).

It is 4 meters from where i stand to the mirror, my usual training distance.

... then 6 meters from the mirror to the wall with the ipad target behind me.

And what about a 10m range in a 3m room with several mirrors? I would try that one in a more remote and quiet place at home.

I carried out a similar experiment with the aiming mark 12.5 metres from the mirror, whcih was placed behind my USB target frame and then I placed the benchrest rifle with telescopic sight just under the suspended target. This worked fine, however you have to be aware that any small inaccuracy in the placement of the rifle, can result in an increase in the error recorded by the SCATT USB target frame and sensor. It may work better with the MX-02. Not had time to try it out, yet.

The rule of thumb here is to avoid using Infra-Red models together with mirrors, as that may (and most likely will) get you skewed results due to how reflections mess with the signal. IronSight's trick is viable only for camera-based models ;)

test set up. I'm going to cut the mirror down for weight reduction, its 1/4 think glass. lady at the glass place said the thicker the glass, the less distortion. i have a goose neck salvaged off a lamp, bolted to a aluminum angle, which i plan on gluing to the mirror. which takes a special glue, so it does not show through. then i will be able to adjust the mirror an inch or two behind the scatt frame to show the target beside me to the rear. My next step is to take a picture of a real target at the range, adjust the size on the lap top, and replace the paper target with a actual picture of a range target. Hope to get some background also to make it more realistic. Then i'll test to see how it works with the scatt.

training in a romm with 5m distance target , a "simple"(small) rifle 10 m target is the right size to simulate 10 m pistol target , blacks circles are different of course but for training it doesnt give trouble and if you want to have correct scoring or fixing error with a transparent 10 m target its easy , i prefer this instead of printing paper target from scatt software , regard"s
